2024 Fishing Packages – Experience the best fishing Reindeer Lake has to offer. Different options for different budgets
Fly/Drive Option: This package is for the cost conscious that want all the perks of a full American Plan but are willing to use some of their own time before and after the trip. This involves getting yourself to Saskatoon and then driving to Southend, SK. From there, depending on the price options you choose, you board a covered boat or a float plane to Tate Island Lodge. See below for details.
Charter from Saskatoon: This is our “Time is Money” option. This involves getting yourself to Saskatoon then boarding a charter to Southend, SK where you will quickly board a float plane for a short trip to Tate Island. See below for details.
NEW FOR 2024, DIY Option: Have a larger group that loves comfort but prefers to manage their day to day? This is available from July 13 to September 30th. Experience Tate Island with basic service. Enjoy the first class accommodations but with an outpost camp twist. Bring your own food with full use of our lodge kitchen and be your own fishing guide (guides still available if needed).
For the foreseeable future, Tate Island Lodge will be a boutique operation with big camp infrastructure. This means that during your stay, your group may have the property to yourselves or you may share the property with one or two other small groups. We don’t expect to have more than 8-12 guests at any given time, THAT’S IT! Your evening down time spent in and around our massive lodge will be anything but crowded. In addition, we’ve switched the whole camp over to solar power therefore the hum of the generator is kept to a minimum and our guests can enjoy what they prefer to hear on their adventure away from the city, THE SOUNDS OF NATURE!
Drive/Fly-In or Boat
Our drive/fly-in option is achieved by driving yourself to the south end of Reindeer Lake, Southend, SK. This is done by flying in to Saskatoon, renting a SUV and driving approximately 6 hours north to Southend (or, we can quote a shuttle at your request). From there you will choose to board a Tate Island Lodge chartered float plane to Tate Island Lodge or ride in our well equipped Hewescraft boat up to the lodge. The lesser rate is for the boat, the slightly more expensive rate is for the float plane. The float plane ride is 30 minutes, the boat is a scenic 2 hours. Dates are flexible, contact us to discuss your dates. Our 5 day, 6 (or 5) night trip using the boat-in option is $3100 USD plus tax and our 5 day, 6 (or 5) night trip using the float plane option is $3550 USD plus taxes.
Charter from Saskatoon
Our charter option includes getting yourself to Saskatoon, then boarding the charter to Southend, SK early the next morning. From Southend you’ll board a float plane for a short 30 minute flight to Tate Island where you will be fishing that afternoon (and into that first evening if you wish). This trip is 5 days, 5 nights and on the 6th morning you will leave Tate and head back to Saskatoon. Cost for this trip is $4950 plus taxes. Comparing this option to other lodges, this gives you one extra day of fishing at a rate that is considerably less.
DIY July 13 to September 30
Due to the various ways this package can be tailored, please contact us for pricing. Include the number of people in your party, preferences (guide or no guide), and use of our boats or bring your own.
Our 2024 American Plan rates above are based on and include:
- 5 days of fishing (if you want more or less days, please contact us for customized pricing)
- 2 guests to 1 guide service (guests fishing/travelling alone to add $125 per day)
- 18ft Alumarine boats, custom designed by/for Tate Island Lodge, including casting platform, carpeted floors, spring ride padded pedestal seats, and 40hp 4 stroke motor
- large modern accommodations with washrooms and cabins that sleep 2
- two queen beds per cabin – 1 per person.
- meals (chef on site)
- daily traditional shore lunch when weather permits or bagged lunch if requested the day before.
Not included in the packages: alcoholic beverages (you can BYOB), taxes, gratuities, fishing gear, license, toiletries and baggage overage charges. Deposit and Payments: $750 due at time of booking and remaining balance due 60 days before trip. Deposits are non-refundable but will be transferable to the following year with 90 days notice. Final payments are refundable up to 60 days before your trip.
Bear Hunting
We offer limited tags for both June and September to manage our resource and ensure the maximizing of opportunities for large bears. The bears in our region offer numerous color phases and generally of high quality as our guests can get great opportunities for Pope and Young class bears. The bear hunting adder is $1,200 USD plus taxes, license, taxidermy, and gratuities. A helpful hint: when researching your bear hunt, ask the outfitters how many tags they are planning to sell, the size of their area, and number of stand sites they have.
